FRAGMENTO DEDICADO A KEATS
(quien deseaba fuese escrito en su tumba)


"Aquí yace Uno cuyo nombre fue escrito en agua".
Pero antes de que el soplo del viento lo borrase,
la Muerte, arrepentida por esa cruel matanza,
la Muerte, frío invierno inmortalizador,
fluyó contra corriente, y el Tiempo caudaloso,
que nunca deja huellas, se hizo orlas cristalinas,
engalanando el nombre de Adonais...

"Here lieth One hose name was writ on water."
But, ere the breat that could erase it blew,
Death, in remorse for that fell slaughter,
Death, the inmortalizing winter, flew
Athwart the stream, –and time's printless torrent grew
A scroll of crystal, blazoning the name
Of Adonais!
